Started in the mid 2010s as the way to brand a few rappers from the same high school, Broken Dreamers is the brain child of Braysean Dillard (Sean D'lo) and Elijah Sow (SowRandom). The entire idea of Broken Dreamers is to give people something to latch onto and see themselves in. It's the classic underdog story. They don't believe in us, they don't even want to believe in us. We are the non factors. But in that, we are the best kept secrets, boasting something that a lot of crews lack in not only the talent available, but the sheer cohesion present with the energy brought and reciprocated by every member of the crew.
Coming from the south side of Columbus, OH, Sean D’lo takes a different approach to music. With a style crafted and curated over years, he’s a nice mix of numerous different influences. From soulful beat chops, to modern trap 808s and hi hats, to smooth rhythmic tones of rnb, there’s a good mix of numerous sounds in his music combined to make one perfect package. One of the most unique and arguably timeless voices on the underground scene, Sean displays infinite amounts of potential with his numerous projects.
SowRandom, a.k.a. DRANK, hails from the south side of Columbus Ohio, and brings a smooth chill sound to his work that is sure to not be forgotten. SowRandom released his first official mixtape on SoundCloud and YouTube entitled “Wake Up Call” in 2021, then released his second mixtape titled “JANUS” to all streaming platforms in 2022 and then his most recent EP “SiDE MiSSiONS, Vol. 1” January 17th 2024. With hard hitting bars and flows for days, DRANK is certainly an artist to be on the lookout for, regardless of your musical tastes.
Another south side Columbus, native. Thelifeofjodye brings a whole new swag to the stage with impressive stylings of music. With his gritty sounding production choices, he's able to paint pictures of numerous scenes, whether he wants to talk about some of his more serious topics, get the party turnt, or do a little bit of both, he is sure to deliver on exactly what he promises, whatever that may be. The sky is the limit for this dreamer here as he is only getting better, and from where he stands now, the idea of him reaching his full potential is a prospect to behold.
Erfwolfe brings a gritty and unique sound to Broken Dreamers. With an east coast influence and production style with heavy synths and rugged drums, there aren’t many artists that can be compared to him. Able to bring the energy of both the soldier and the general in his music, he's a breath of fresh air to the landscape. While he is yet to put out any solo work, he has plenty of great work in the making and is sure to be one of the standout artists of the upcoming generation. The bar may be high, but there is no doubt that he will be able to reach it, and surpass it.
An east sider from the Dreamers home base of Columbus, Ohio. Jay certainly knows how to give you a cozy feeling when listening to his tunes. From the infectious hook game, to the bar and story driven verses, CoZy definitely has a lot to say in his music, opting for more of a lyrical and conscious sound, even more so than some of the others. Jay CoZy, while still not having a solo release to his name yet, displays a stunning amount of potential. From the work that he has done now, it's no wonder how he has been leaving us all very excited for his debut project and his future, wondering what it is that he holds in store.
And yet another south sider to the Broken Dreamers roster. KA$I brings one of the most soulful and smooth sounds to his music, being one of the dreamers most unique voices. With inspiration coming from the likes of John Legend, He brings a smooth mix of R&B sounds and a touch of pop that is sure to create your next ear worm. While yes, he is another artist on the Broken Dreamers roster who has yet to drop any solo work, he has showed well enough through his work with Sean D'lo that when he decides to take that step, he will without a doubt be more than ready to take the world by storm!
Maytona brings a much more fun and energetic tone to the world of Broken Dreamers Music. With his innovative self titled "Hyper R&B" stylings, and at times more gritty and slapping bars, Maytona brings something completely different to Broken Dreamers. Probably the biggest standout artist on the roster, he definitely understands how to deliver melodies that stick and immediately catch your attention. No matter what it is that he is doing, Maytona is sure to be making something, that you absolutely will not want to miss out on.
